youngest of the family as a young man came to Oslo as ashoe-maker ca me to the U.S.A. at age 24 moved to Minnehahacounty Sioux Falls SD maki ng his home with his brother Iverafter wedding went to Stillwater MN work ed in a large plane millfor several years went back to Minnehaha county a nd rented afarm several miles SW of Garretson about 1908 purchased a fa rm 4miles south of Garretson the same year Karine passed away aftera ti me rented his farm out to his oldest daughters husband HiramBrandt plann ed to visit Norway in 1919 but during the summer of1919 suffered cerabr al hemmorage which left him bedridden forthe rest of his life sold the fa rm to Sam Sorenson in 1917 withthe reservation that he could continue to l ive there |
