A sdoes all other census reports I have. Records indicate daughterHannah bo rn (on Erie Canal?) at Weedsport NY 11 Feb 1847Josephine listed as bo rn in NY Oct 1854 Came toWhitewater,Walworth co,WI just before 1860? List ed in 1880census as living with Charles Blackman and his family along with Anna Cullins age 17 listed as single born in WI His Obit reads: Colbert.- At his home in the Ferrall house onCenter St.,on Wednesday,Jan.29,of hea rt disease,GeorgeColbert,age sixty-six years. Mr.Colbert had been a reside nt ofWhitewater and the immediate vicinity for about thirty-twoyears,a nd in all that time had by his jovial and good naturedways.his kindly trea tment of those with whom he came intocontact and his uprightness made on ly friends. His death wasvery sudden and unexpected. He was seen on Tuesd ay about thestreets,as also on Wednesday morning,in usual heath,and onWedn esday evening was found by his little grandson lying dead onthe floor in h is room,he having for some weeks past been livingalone. He was apparent ly in the act of filling his coal stovewhen stricken down,as the hod was f ound near him on the floortwo-thirds emptied and the magazine of the sto ve open. He leavesto mourn his death eight children,Edwin, of this city,Ed ward ofDelavan,William and Orlando, of Barron county,Wis,Mrs.JeanetteGreen ,who lives near here,Mrs.Josephine Renne,ofMilwaukee,Mrs.Bull,of Racine,a nd Miss Clara,who is inWhitewater.The funeral will be from the house on Sa turday at 2p.m. Taken from Whitewater Register 30 Jan 1890. We visited Yo rk England Sept 1-3, 2004. We saw the Register ofDeeds where they would ha ve been married. We saw the farm areacalled Kexby where George's fath er is listed as living onmarriage certificate. We saw Shipton where Elizab eth was from.We also saw Haxby where she may have been baptised accordi ng topapers on file. All in all York is a beautiful place to visit.
